St. Joseph: Patron Saint of Real Estate
Is St. Joseph really going to help sell your house? Why do sellers bury a St. Joseph statue? How did this tradition get started?
Who is St. Joseph? He is the earthly father of Jesus. He is the patron saint of home, family, and workers, especially carpenters. He is believed to bring blessings to families and help to those seeking a new place to live.
Does he help to sell a house? The practice of burying a St. Joseph statue when selling a home is a long-standing tradition. The tradition says to bury the St. Joseph statue in the front of the home (preferably by the For Sale sign), upside down (encouraging him to work hard for you), and facing the street (guiding buyers to your home).
Here's my personal testimony...Recently, I buried a St. Joseph statue in the front of one of my luxury listings, we got a showing request the next day which resulted in an offer. We close this week! Secondly, I started wearing a St. Joseph medal that I purchased on an antique buying excursion with a client. Since that year, I have attained record sales that get better each year!
My family attends St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milton and I wear an antique brass St. Joseph medal around my neck. I am a believer in St. Joseph's intercession and the power of praying to him. And you better believe that each one of my listings has a St. Joseph statue buried in the front yard!
